Manti

on

According to the language, Manti could either refer to one or more dumplings. Essentially a Manti is a dumpling filled with spiced meat.

In modern Turkish cuisine, manti are typically served topped with yoghurt and garlic, and spiced with red pepper powder and melted butter, and topped with ground sumac and/or dried mint by the consumer. The smaller the manti dumplings are, the more skillful the bride is considered to be in the kitchen. So one could call it a welcome food made by the bride.

Manti is not just made in Turkey, it’s made all around the world, across countries like Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and so on.

Again, Manti/Mantu/Mantou, whatever it is called in several languages, is not just made out of spiced meat, it’s also available for vegetarian eaters.
