Satay from the Sate City!!

Everybody loves the good old chicken tikka any day. Meet its Malaysian counterpart: satay!

Satay is usually prepared with cubed chicken skewered on bamboo sticks and served with peanut sauce known as satay sauce. These skewers are either grilled or barbecued. There are a number of variants ranging from beef to turtle satay.

It originated in Indonesia and this easy recipe traveled to neighbouring countries of Malaysia and Singapore. Each country has its own variants. The Kajang city in Malaysia is well-known for their delectable satay has been dubbed as the Sate city.

It is an iconic street food with each vendor bringing something new to the dish. There are halal and non-halal varieties also available.
