Nan Gyi Thoke

Nan Gyi Thoke, often called the spaghetti of Burma is a wholesome breakfast food. Also called Mandalay mouti thoke- a tribute to its origin city – and Nan Pia Thoke when made with flat noodles, Nan Gyi Thoke,  is a classic Burmese noodle preparation that leverages the richness of Coconut Chicken Curry. Consisting of chewy, round rice noodles lightly coated in a savoury chicken curry topped with hard- boiled eggs, it is a perfectly balanced plate of noodles. The rice noodles, Nan Gyi, are mixed with a curry and veggies like cabbage, scallions, and bean sprouts to make a Thoke. Thick rice noodles and a starchy chicken curry are the stars of the dish.
